Chapter wise analysis of the World Health Organisation’s Global Status Report for Road Safety, 2015. According to the Global Road Safety Report, 2015, more than 1.2 million people die on the world’s roads each year, making road traffic injuries a leading cause of deaths in low and middle-income countries where rapid economic growth has resulted in increased motorization and road traffic injuries. It has been recognized as a development issue, in addition to being a public health problem, with low and middle-income economies losing almost 3% of their GDP to losses due to road crashes.
