Justice (Retd) Indu Malhotra

Former Judge, Supreme Court of India

Indu Malhotra is a retired judge and senior counsel of the Hon. Supreme Court of India. She was the second woman to be designated as Senior Advocate by the Hon. Supreme Court.

Krishen Mehta

Chairman Emeritus, SaveLIFE Foundation, Senior Global Justice Fellow, Yale University

Krishen Mehta is a writer, teacher, and speaker on issues of global tax justice. Prior to making tax justice his main focus, he was a partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and served in their New York, London, and Tokyo offices. His responsibilities included PwC’s US Tax practices in Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, Korea, China, and Indonesia, encompassing over 140 American companies conducting business in Asia. Krishen is a Senior Advisor to Tax Justice Network. He serves on the Advisory Board of Aspen Institute’s Business and Society Program, and is a member of the Asia Advisory Council of Human Rights Watch. He is also a Trustee of the Korbel School of International Studies at the University of Denver, and of the Institute of Current World Affairs in Washington, DC. He is also an Adjunct Professor at American University, and a frequent guest speaker at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University in Boston and at Tokyo University in Japan. He has also conducted Capstone workshops for graduate students at the School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) at Columbia University. From 2010-2012, Krishen was Co-Chairman of the Advisory Board of GFI, a research and advocacy group at the Center for International Policy in Washington, DC, engaged in the area of financial transparency.

Mr. G. K. Pillai

Former Union Home Secretary of India

Mr. G. K. Pillai, an IAS of the batch of 1972, has held a number of prestigious positions in the government. He took over as Union Home Secretary in 2009 while he concurrently held the position of Secretary of the Department of Justice, Ministry of Law and Justice. In the past he has also held the position of Commerce Secretary and was the principal secretary to the Chief Minister of Kerala from 2001-04. He belongs to the Kerala cadre of the Indian Administrative Service (1972 batch) and is a graduate from I.I.T. Madras. He retired as the Union Home Secretary of India in 2011.

Mr. Ajai Chowdhry

Founder, HCL and Padma Bhushan Awardee

Mr. Chowdhry is one of the six founding members of HCL. A highly well-known industrialist, Mr. Chowdhry was conferred with the prestigious Padma Bhushan, the highest civilian honour for his consistent contribution in the field of Information Technologies in 2011. He was also conferred with the Honoris Causa Doctorate of Science by IIT Roorkee and has been appointed as the Chairman of IIT-Patna by the Hon’ble President of India, Mr. Pranab Mukherjee.

Mr. Karandeep Singh

Karan Singh is one of the founding partners of Trilegal. He has, over the decades, advised clients on their strategic growth plans in India, including acquisitions and financial investments across sectors. He has advised on several high-profile cross-border and domestic acquisitions, representing buyers, vendors, lenders, investors and financial advisors. Karan now serves on the Board of Trilegal after having served for many years on the firm’s Management Committee. His wealth of experience comes from advising on a range of transactions, including mergers, demergers, share swaps, asset purchase, restructuring and spin-offs, involving listed as well as closely-held Indian companies. Karan has worked with several banks and institutions for offshore and domestic financing and has an established track record in several areas of expertise, including project and syndicated finance, structured finance products, regulatory matters and leveraged buyouts.

Mr. Alexander Korah Kuruvilla

Managing Director, Conde Nast India

Alex Kuruvilla is a veteran of the Indian media and entertainment industry. He founded Conde Nast India with the launch of fashion bible Vogue in 2007 followed by GQ, Conde Nast Traveller and Architectural Digest, spanning print, events, digital and TV. Alex was earlier Managing Director of MTV Networks India where he won several awards and accolades for his work and was nominated for Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2002. He has been widely covered in the international media, including Fortune and The New York Times. Alex was a founding member of the Indian Broadcasting Foundation and is a trustee of the Kochi Biennale Foundation.

Mr. Akshay Saxena

Co-founder and CEO, Avanti Fellows

Akshay Saxena is the Co-Founder of Avanti Fellows, and an Ashoka fellow. He was awarded the Draper Richards Kaplan Fellowship and Echoing Green Fellowship in 2012 for his work at Avanti. He also has significant experience as a management consultant with the Boston Consulting Group in India, and in project implementation with UNWFP and the International Save the Children Alliance. Akshay graduated with a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from IIT Bombay.

Mr. Parul Soni

Global Managing Partner, Thinkthrough Consulting

A graduate from St. Stephen’s college, Mr. Soni has been associated with a number of well known organizations during the course of his career. During the early phases of his career, he worked with Rajiv Gandhi Foundation and was the country representative for India and Nepal for Save the Children campaign. He was working as an Executive Director and Practice leader at Ernst and Young and is currently the Global Managing Partner at Thinkthrough Consulting.

Mr. Piyush Tewari

Founder & CEO SaveLIFE Foundation

Piyush Tewari is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of SaveLIFE Foundation (SLF), a nonprofit organisation committed to saving lives on roads in India since 2008. He is best known for getting India a Good Samaritan Law and for developing an award-winning model for reducing fatalities on Indian highways and expressways.

In 2021, he was recognised by the World Economic Forum and the India Today Group for mounting an extraordinary response to the COVID19-induced oxygen emergency in India.

Piyush holds an MPA from Harvard University and is a recipient of the Rolex Award for Enterprise (2010). In 2019, he was recognised by the World Economic Forum as a Young Global Leader. In 2021, he was appointed by the Government of India as a Member of the National Road Safety Council. Prior to founding SLF, Piyush served as the Managing Director, India, of the Calibrated Group, a US-based private equity fund.
